On September 26, China Superhard Materials Network reporter learned from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology that in order to implement the “13th Five-Year Plan for Guangdong Province Science and Technology Innovation (2016-2020)”, according to the “Guangdong Province Key Area R&D Plan Implementation Plan” Focusing on the demand for key supporting materials for major national projects and advanced manufacturing industries in Guangdong Province, combined with the development trend of cutting-edge technologies for international new materials, the key projects of “Advanced Manufacturing Key Support Materials” were launched.

It is understood that the key objectives of this special project are: to meet the key material requirements and key performance requirements of key materials in the high-end equipment manufacturing, UHV and related electrical manufacturing industries in Guangdong Province, to break through a number of key materials and technologies, and to promote related materials. High-performance, differentiated development, and improve the full chain penetration, integration and application level of new materials in advanced manufacturing key areas.

Superhard materials and their application in typical projects are one of the four topics that are specifically deployed. The project implementation period is 3-4 years. When applying, it must be declared according to the topic. The research content must cover all the contents listed under the topic. When the project is completed, all the assessment indicators listed under the topic should be completed. The total number of participating units in each project shall not exceed 10. Unless otherwise specified, this special item requires enterprises to take the lead in reporting, large enterprises jointly innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, universities, research institutes, etc., joint declaration of production, education and research; the results achieved at the completion of the project need to achieve mass production and sales. The research contents and assessment indicators of superhard materials and their application in typical projects are as follows:

       1. Research content

       Develop nanometer/ultrafine grained cemented carbide material design and preparation technology with high hardness, high strength and high wear resistance; study the regulation technology of grain growth inhibitor in nano/ultrafine grained cemented carbide to solve the problem The problem of uneven distribution of inhibitors; research on near-net forming technology and high-densification processing technology of large-diameter ratio cemented carbide rods/pipes; optimization of tool shape and geometric angle design and processing algorithm of hard/super-hard coating Develop on-line detection system for tool geometry parameters based on high resolution and high frame rate digital images; study nucleation, growth and microstructure evolution of coating preparation process, reveal microstructure performance (mechanics, high temperature and friction and wear properties) The influence law, establish the theory of hard and super hard coating texture performance regulation; explore the matching between coating and tool, establish the adaptability criterion between coating and tool; study hard/super hard coating tool Service performance (cutting, high temperature oxidation and friction and wear properties), revealing its failure mode and degradation mechanism; researching precision and efficient cutters for difficult materials Establish a high-speed cutting database development tool.

       2, assessment indicators

       (1) The average sectional grain size of nano/ultrafine grained cemented carbide dm≤0.2 μm, bending strength ≥ 4900 MPa, Rockwell hardness HRA ≥ 94;

       (2) The precision of the blade grinding precision is within 0.003 mm, the contouring accuracy of the forming tool is controlled within 1/3 of the tolerance of the machined part, and the radial runout and end face runout are controlled within 0.003 mm;

       (3) Develop an on-line monitoring system for tool geometry parameters, and repeat measurement accuracy should be within 2 μm;

       (4) Hard coating thickness: 1-20μm; hardness ≥35 GPa, bonding force ≥70 N; oxidation temperature ≥900 °C;

       (5) Thickness of diamond super-hard coating: 3-20μm, hardness ≥80 GPa; coating erosion time ≥180 seconds, coating wear resistance is more than 5 times higher than substrate; (6) Establish multi-factor coupling The evaluation method of tool damage failure provides a complete evaluation system for the cutting performance of coated tools. Establish a high-efficiency cutting database of tools including system management module, basic information management module and process parameter management module to achieve accurate prediction of tool life and processing quality;

       (7) The key materials will be industrialized upon completion of the project, and the target products will be applied in key projects such as aerospace and rail transit, which can replace similar imported products, with an added value of more than 400 million yuan. The application indicators for project results are as follows:

       1 Diamond superhard coating tool for aviation carbon fiber composite processing: surface roughness ≤ 0.5 μm, processing life ≥ 160 hours;

       2 3C intelligent terminal graphite mold processing diamond super hard coating tool: processing graphite mold 450 minutes, tool flank wear amount ≤ 0.30 mm;

       3 Hard coated tools for stainless steel processing: surface roughness ≤ 1 μm, processing life ≥ 20 hours;

       4 Hard-coated steel tools for high-strength steel processing: under high-strength conditions, milling high-strength steel with hardness >HRC60, surface roughness ≤0.5 μm, tool life ≥10 hours;

       (8) Apply for more than 10 core invention patents.
